Im-polis…(place of relation)

“There are, in the actual margins of politics, unforeseen places…the impolitical is a perspective, a form of looking, a way of facing the actualization process of politics”

Politics is the space that arises between persons, what is in between and is erected as a pure relation. The use and denounce of the political inside the artistic sphere has entered into a zone of exhaustion that needs to be reactivated and to produce meaning from new articulations. Im-polis is a curatorial project that favors the dialogue among works that intensify the experience of the media/urban space as a place of relation, and that, at the same time, inscribe it within the margins of the political. The curatorial proposal is articulated around artists that conceptually emphasize the displacement and the journey as the appropriate place from where to evidence the utilitarianism that prevails in the use of media. Thus, the works that shape the project can be understood as spatializations within the everyday flux, works that based on the technical device establish intersections between different space-time tonalities: presence, interruption and resonance. The paradox of the coming and going between one and the other, together with the simultaneity of the narrative, shows the focal center of the curatorship: to give place to the impolitical of the gaze as a possibility before the historical depoliticization of technology.
