The Transitio_mx Festival 01 (2005) theme was Imaginaries in Transit: Poetics and Technologies. Its proposal was to move the attention towards the strategies of media art appreciated mainly by its faculty of producing sense and its aesthetic density. The intention was to (re) read technology to (re) articulate imaginaries, linking poetics and technology. The first edition of Transitio_mx Festival was directed by Ivan Abreu. It was planned as an important strategy to promote creation, as long as a way to recognize the best of the artistic production that use the electronic media as support and as a theme of reflection. During this first edition, Imaginaries in Transit: Poetics and Technology, more than 300 proposals of 34 countries were received, works that, as the juries said, "explored deeply in cultural contexts, technological inquiries and even social conflicts". Among the winning works is Op-Era: Sonic Dimension by Daniela Kutschat and Rejane Cantoni (Brazil), and Memorias by Carolina Esparragoza (Mexico).

The edition of the Festival Transitio_mx 02 (2007) was named Nomadic Frontiers. It looked to generate a space of action and reflection about the concept of community. The goal was to make relationships of affections and knowledge among artists, scientists, collectors, specialists in technology, curators, academics and public in general to eliminate, in a symbolic way, the limits between disciplines and territories supporting hybrid projects that proposed forms of interrelate. The artistic director of the second festival Transitio_mx 02 was Grace Quintanilla.

This Festival received 300 proposals of 36 countries, approximately, and had 3 winners: Transitio Prize, given to Matt Roberts (US) for his work Cycles for Wandering; there were also 3 mentions to artists from Netherlands, Germany and Mexico, given to Ricardo Domínguez, Brett Stalbaum, Micha Cárdenas and Jason Najarro (US), for their work Transborder Immigrant Tool; and the Sizigia Prize, given to Brad Kligerman and Jamil Mehdaoui (France), for Identity States.
