He graduated in Social Communications at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Minas Gerais (PUC). He holds an MA in Social Communication from the Universidad Federal de Minas Gerais, where he completed his dissertation From time left to time passing – aesthetic experience and time in media art works. He also holds a PhD from the School of Communications and Arts of the University of Sao Paulo (USP) with the dissertation: Timescapes: space and time in media art. He is a Professor at the Communications and Arts Faculty of PUC Minas (FCA-PUC MINAS) and coordinates the Image and Sound Experimentation Center (CEIS) at FCA. He is a member of the board of the Videobrasil Cultural Association.
