Machiko Kusahara
Japón, 1947
Professor at the School for Literature, Arts and Sciences of the University of Waseda, Tokyo, Japan, as well as art and new media curator, she is currently a guest at the Department of Design and Media Arts at UCLA. Being a researcher and theoretician of media art, she writes and curates within an interdisciplinary framework that links Art, Science, Technology, Culture, Sociology and History. The University of Tokyo awarded her a PhD degree in Engineering. Kusahara has also created a virtual museum on Utushi-e for the Virtual Museum of the Ministry of Culture, an allegory in the style of the ancient magic lantern.
